Good morning Team!!!
It is early in the 21st of March 2010 and I wanted to reconnect to say ‘hello’ and see how the weekend has been travelling with you? I was in and out of speaking engagements and then meetings yesterday. It was a whirlwind day of sharing wisdom, ideas, practical support to provide the skills and abilities to help others think, feel and take action to create the success they desired.
I spoke at Curves at Crows Nest yesterday on ‘Think Yourself Thin’. I had never met any of these women before. So I had not idea what to expect and I am sure they had no idea what to expect from me.
We set the group up into a circle rather than me standing at the front lecturing. I prefer to sit in with everyone and share the experience. I feel when women come together for the betterment of women, sit in a circle which so represents the coming together of the ‘Oneness’ then nothing is impossible to achieve.
It was so perfectly set up that the owner of Curves, Tavun Atkins, was sitting right opposite to me and he is a man that has never experienced an issue with his weight. So I was able to use him to prove the point that the only difference between his experience of being weight-issue-free and others experience of struggling with their weight was his mindset compared to theirs. For mindset creates how you feel, which creates the actions you decide to take. Your mindset influences your judgement, rationality and logic and causes you to eat either for the right reasons or what you might perceive to be the wrong reasons.
This man’s whole mindset around his weight was ‘Ok’. That’s it. Nothing more than that. In fact that was his mindset about everything. As a result he ate when he was hungry and stopped when he felt full. He didn’t eat to cope with how he felt or to fight or battle with himself. In fact he didn’t struggle with any real inner demons. He was calm, collected and at peace. Didn’t mean he didn’t have challenges in his life. He did for he faced all the concerns most of us face with businesses and families. But in his mind his core thought was ‘Ok’ so over all he was ‘Ok’.
Those with weight issues often have a mindset story around food that is long, complicated and full of pit-falls which therefore they end up acting out. For example this is a common story: ‘I’ve always had a problem with my weight. No matter what I try I just can’t seem to get a grip on it. I can lose weight but I can never keep it off. I can’t seem to be able to be free from it all. Even when I do lose weight I know that the ‘eating monster’ is still in there lurking away ready to jump out at anytime’.
Can you see the difference in the mindset and what feelings these people would have and what actions they would take? Tavun is ‘Ok’ so his life is ‘Ok’. Simple as that.
The second story is a life experience of pain, hardship, weight loss and weight gain, feeling demoralised and stuck. Feeling depressed and low not being able to get ahead to look and feel great for life. Failing to thrive is what I would call it.
Which one are you???? Do you fall between the two??? Which story would you like to tell??? Which story would you like to be????
I challenged everyone, including to Tavun, to take the concept one step further. I challenged them to ‘got for the stars’ in their mindsets to allow their full beauty, potential, good looks, strength, courage, confidence and magnificence to shine out fully and go for ‘Perfect’ as the life-story beyond adopting ‘Ok’!!!
For ‘Perfect’ is a courageous statement for in so many ways we are told ‘perfect is not possible’ for there is such a strong ‘your not good enough and don’t think you are better than you think you are for you are not’ mentality for so many of us. For so many women spoke yesterday of how often they are put down by others and told how unattractive and ‘not good enough’ they are. So there is so much resistance to speaking the truth of ‘Perfect’. Just because someone else says something doesn’t mean it is true. Especially if it is endless critisim and judgement of you as a person.
(To deal with this opposition in your mind if you hear a negative comment about yourself step back for a moment in your mind and say ‘thank you for sharing’. Don’t react to them for they are used to you ‘biting back’. Then in your mind say to yourself ‘I’m perfect’ and keep going around your day. Don’t get involved in the negativity and it will soon drop away for you will no longer be feeding it. Make sense??? You may have to do this a few times until the energy dynamic falls away. But if you don’t give the situation energy it will fall away to a situation of greater peace).
Ok back to ‘Perfect’. You begin to think it every moment of every day about everything. Why? Because you want to become someone who doesn’t have a problem with food and weight. Tavun doesn’t have a problem with eating or weight because he thinks his eating and weight is ‘Ok’. He had thought and believed this for most of his life. So he doesn’t have to consciously chose to think it now. It is subconscious for him now.
You want to take the steps to become this by firstly realigning your mind to think, believe and feel the same to take the same action and move into that state of this being a subconscious action for you too.
So firstly you think ‘Perfect. It is Perfect. Thank you for Everything’ non-stop, as I just said, until you get to the point where you start to notice you feel it and you actually ‘get’ it. When I say you ‘get’ it, it is that moment when it passes from just being a thought to being an authentic feeling and sense of truth. At this point you are then in the zone like Tavun of simply living it!!! Woo-hoo goal achieved. The goal achieved is that you are now in a safe zone where you can safely eat well and exercise and not sabotage yourself anymore. Therefore you will be able to lose your weight and feel great for life and not worry about the ‘eating monster’ jumping out and ruining it all for you because the ‘eating monster’ doesn’t exist anymore for you thought it out of you!!!
