Day 42 – In The Success 2010

Hello Everyone!!!

It is the 25th of March 2010 and I am preparing to head to an Athena Meeting (http://www.theathenanetwork.com.au) at North Sydney with Deb Pilgrim my Business Mentor (http://debpilgrim.com).

Suzy Jacobs the National Director of The Athena Network made a very important observation on her twitter (@athenanetwork) the other day. She said something around the power of picking up the phone and making a call rather than just sending an email.

Now I have to agree with Suzy here. When I started doing my private consulting via the telephone and email 8 years or so ago it was all new to do it that way. Using the internet and email was not so common. It was more of a novelty. Now it is inundating!!! I dread looking in my Inbox some times. For I get sent emails I know I haven’t subscribed to!!! It is overwhelming. To the point where I often just delete emails without reading them. Am I alone here? Does this happen to you? What do you do with email overload?

I do ‘chunk’ my email responding and flag important messages for action. But I feel that despite this there is something bigger and better to be gained. I have also found by just making a phone call so much more is gained in a shorter period of time. Business grows faster by making the call.

In this age of technology we are all so depend on the internet to provide us with ‘universal connection’. Especially with Social Media (Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook to name a few) and the abilities of our websites to provide regular email contact with our subscribers worldwide that we are now able to connect with ‘whomever, whenever, however’.

I feel this is fantastic for so many of us this interconnectedness as a chance to open doors of opportunity never before thought possible. So the possibilities abound because of this. You never know who you will meet through these connections and where they might head to. They could head to your ‘big break’ or your ‘chance success’. So it is exciting stuff.

But is this the only way for success to arrive now? Are we missing something of the simplcity or something from the 'old days'? I think Suzy mentioned it and I seconded it. 'Pick up the phone and call someone' seems to be our answer. But I think The Team wanted to say something about your ‘big break’ or your ‘chance success’. I think they want to say something about being more strategic in your thinking to bring your magical opportunity or ‘event of success’ to you quicker, better, bigger and faster!

So here goes:

“Yes what we wanted to say is do not leave it to chance. Be very directive in your mind. Yes your social media is important and it is one avenue as one possible channel of success. But if you are wanting to ‘make it big’ or ‘get there now’ or open your life to an opportunity of success that will reap you infinite benefit then in your mind we suggest you ask yourself ‘who can I call?’ For who is it that would open the doors for you? You only really want to be connected to this person. Your mind is an instrument of strategy. It is to be used wisely to love, honour and take care of you on the earth plain. Use it wisely to make it very simple for you to be guided in the direction to making ‘the call’ to the person that will count the most for you. God Bless”.

So what The Team are saying is be very directive in your mind. For remember your mind contains in it all the answers to all the questions. So ask the right questions to get the right answers (Anthony Robbins wrote that in his book ‘Awakening The Giant Within’).

You want to ‘make the call’ to the person that is going to make the biggest and best difference for you now.

No more mucking around on Social Media waiting for the connection to be made. Yes this network is great for support. But I think The Team are saying your opportunity is even more simple that this complicated network of possibilities!!!!
